BARN SWALLOW / BEZDELĪGA

When Death knocks on old carpenter’s door, he tries to convince her to let him live a little longer

A short film made in January 2025 as a part of my Bachelor Thesis in Cinematography.

Credits: Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Writing

My first film with dialogue. For this story I was inspired by fairy tales in which a man makes a deal and tricks a higher being like the devil or Death. I wanted to explore the idea of Death being one of the characters similar to Orpheus (1950), The Seventh Seal (1957) and The Fall Of The House Of Usher (2023).

GRADUATE / ABSOLVENTS

A scene from the film The Graduate (1967)

Filmed in 2024 for a school project.

ABSENCE

A young poet, lost in his work, faces his own creation.

A silent abstract short film I made in January 2023 while on an exchange program in Zlin, Czech Republic.

Credits: Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Sound

The film explores the relationship between the art and the artist and is heavily inspired by Jean Cocteau's avant-garde film The Blood of a Poet (1932). It uses multiple mixed media techniques, which I often implement in my work: stop-motion, photomontage, cut-out animation.

On the set

BEFORE NOON

A short film about dreaming.

Shot in 2022 this short film explores multiple mixed media techniques such as stop motion and cut-out animation. Inspired by the works of Maya Deren, Len Lye and Normal McLaren.

Credits: Directing, Cinematography, Editing

WAY TO SCHOOL / CEĻŠ UZ SKOLU

A short film reflecting on the reality of living in the modern urban dystopia

Credits: Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Sound
